The New Betty Retter Mother and Baby Centre Opens at Laniado!

Laniado Hospital recently held a festive opening for its state-of-the-art Betty Retter Mother and Baby Medical Centre. The centre was dedicated by the Retter Family in memory of their dear mother, Blima Raizel.

Laniado Hospital is famed throughout Israel and surrounding areas for its maternity care and is just completing a brand new maternity and neo natal department on the third floor of the Children's Hospital, which will accomodate for 700 babies a month. The glass atrium connects the new department with the current maternity unit and beautifies the panoramic view of the hospital.

Women from all over the country and beyond come to Laniado to have their babies, as the reputation for excellence is reknowned in this department.

The atrium includes an entrance lobby, which has now been unveiled with the memorial plaque for Betty Retter. Amongst the honoured guests at the ceremony were The Grand Rabbi, The Rebbe of Sanz, The Chief Rabbi of Rechovot, Rabbi Simchah Kook, and Cantor Binyamin Helfgott, all of whom participated in the event, which was followed by a celebratory meal.

The inauguration was completed when the Rebbe of Sanz affixed the mezuzah on the doorpost of the main entrance to the centre and honoured the eldest son, Daniel Retter, to share in this mitzvah.
