Boys raise thousands for Laniado's babies

25/03/2008

Laniado UK Purim shpielers were on the road on Purim helping Netanya's Laniado.  Seven Pardes Grammar boys travelled the streets of North West London collecting funds for the hospital's new baby unit, which just celebrated its 100,000 birth last month.

More than £2,500 was raised on the night of Purim by the boys, whose popular reputation spread quickly, as well as other independent shpielers.  Bright orange wrap wrist bands were also sold in the hundreds to help buy a piece of equipment for the maternity department.

Laniado UK's Chief Executive, Yael Simon, said: "I am full of admiration at the boys' fundraising initiative, which clearly showed their ingenuity, talent and their strong commitment to the hospital.  Seeing our community's young people actively raise money like they did is an inspiration to us all."
