THE EMERGENCY ROOM AND TRAUMA CENTRE
Our current and most ambitious project is building the Emergency and Trama Centre at Laniado Hospital.
THE NEED
The hospital at present has a relatively small Emergency Room with only one Trauma Unit. During mass casualties the staff in the Unit has to decide which victim will be the one to be treated in the Trauma Unit while the others will probably be treated under sub-optimal conditions.
Since the start of the Palestinian Intifada in September 2000, Netanya has experienced the largest number of terrorist attacks of any city, excluding Jerusalem. Aside from those who were killed, hundreds of innocent people were injured and Laniado Hospital successfully treated over five hundred of these victims.
With terror attacks still a very real part of everyday life in Israel, Laniado Hospital is in urgent need of a new Trauma and Emergency Center. In addition to
the Emergency Room, which will continue to treat patients on a daily basis, the trauma unit will provide specialised care for victims of natural disasters, car accidents and other life-threatening situations, as well as terror attacks.

OTHER PROJECTS
Throughout the year, we organise small projects to raise funds for specific machinery for the hospital. If you would like to get involved and be a contributor by raising money for one of our current projects, we will be only too happy to have you involved.
Once the project is completed, we will buy the machinery and have a plaque made with all the names of the contibutors.
