Laniado Goes Pop !

The Young Laniado Committee are delighted to announce today that their first event of 2008  has raised over £3000 for Laniado Hospital, Netanya, Israel.

‘Laniado goes Pop!' was the latest in a series of themed events, most recently the return of the hugely popular ‘Laniado Live at the Jazz Cafe In August last year. Billed as a club night with the very best of 80's and 90's music, and with Sweatbands and Leg-Warmers the watchwords, Laniado Goes Pop! saw Kentish Town's Bullet Bar crammed with over 300 people, reminiscing in childhood bliss to the tunes of yesteryear, surrounded by glowsticks, lollipops and other similar pop-tastic decorations.

A charity raffle on the night with signatures scrawled on five-pound notes rather than conventional tickets saw a magnum of champagne and theatre tickets go to lucky winners.

Every penny of the £3000 raised is going directly to the Laniado Hospital.

Club goers described the night as: "Fantastic", "a trip down memory lane" and "the best charity club night I've been to in a long time!"

Andrew Wolfin, Chair of the Young Laniado Committee said: "I'm absolutely delighted. We strive to put on events that are different from your average jew-do, and it's great that so many people are responding. Most importantly, the Hospital continues to reap the rewards of the fun we are all having."
