New Appointment at Laniado UK
Laniado UK Appoints Business Director
Laniado UK this week announced the appointment of Spencer Gelding (33) as Business Director, a new role primarily created to develop the charity's Patronage Campaign and expand the young donor-base which has become Laniado UK's trademark.
Commenting on Mr Gelding's appointment, Yael Simon, Chief Executive of Laniado UK said: "Spencer's extensive and in-depth experience over the past 17 years as a mover and shaker on the Anglo-Jewish scene places him in a unique position to galvanize the community into active partnership with one of Israel's outstanding hospitals. He is a transformational figure, being a role model and living proof of the ability to successfully apply to the non-profit sector, skills and success learnt from the business work, whilst also achieving a greater sense of personal fulfillment."
Spencer Gelding's communal involvement began in the early nineties as a youth leader in Hanoar Hatzioni, a movement in which he rose through the ranks to become National Director in 1996. His communal interests developed further during his University years, during which time he was Chairman of the Manchester Charity Committee.
Over the past decade, Mr Gelding's career spanned the worlds of Anglo-Jewish charitable and business worlds - as Fundraising Executive for the JNF in the late 1990's and joint-chair of Young Jewish Care 2001-2004 - an executive role within one of the leading Jewellery companies in England and most recently as the U.K Sales Director for an International Jewellery brand.
Speaking upon his appointment, Spencer Gelding said: "I am delighted to have been appointed to this exciting new role of Business Director, which gives me the opportunity to apply my experience and contacts to the benefit of Laniado UK, the UK fundraising arm of one of the most dynamic and vital medical institutions in Israel. I congratulate Laniado UK for their wisdom and foresight in identifying the need to pro-actively engage with current Patrons and supporters as well as the next-generation of Anglo-Jewish leaders in these challenging times."
Mr Gelding is married with two young daughters and is a member of Norrice Lea Shul.
