Purchase Equipment for the Hospital

Our mandate is to raise capital funding for equipment, building and expansion of the hospital. On a very tangible, practical level you can make a donation to purchase a piece of equipment for a department that needs it most.

Please look at our current ‘shopping list’ of equipment below. You might find something there that you would like to dedicate in someone’s memory or in gratitude for someone’s recovery. Equipment over £1000 may have a plaque affixed in dedication. When we receive notification of your donation, we will be in touch if you wish to do this.

Additional Equipment for the Resusciation Cart The resuscitation cart contains all of the equipment and medications needed for advanced life support and CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation). This emergency equipment is used only if the patient's heart or lungs stop working. The cart is brought to the patient's bedside when the patient's heart or lungs are failing or have failed. CAD Technology for Mammogrpahy Computer-aided detection (CAD) technology is a recent advance in the field of breast imaging. The CAD technology basically works like a second pair of eyes, reviewing a patient's mammogram film after the radiologist has already made an initial interpretation. If the computer software detects any breast abnormalities or "regions of interest" on the mammogram film, it marks them. The radiologist can then go back and review the mammogram film again to determine whether the marked areas are suspicious and require further examination (with additional imaging tests or biopsy). With the CAD technology, the radiologist still makes the final interpretation of the mammogram.
