A unique and special therapeutic garden for the elderly is blooming at Laniado

18/04/2007

The therapeutic garden, which is located in a greenhouse on the roof of the Geriatric Department at Laniado hospital, is a popular place where elderly patients can enjoy working and tending to plants. The patients plant bulbs and water them and, using the garden waste, they create special home tools like glass mate from dry flowers.

Last month the plants came to bloom and the elderly patients were able to sell their pots with budding flowers to hospital visitors. The proceeds of their sales went directly to purchase equipment needed for the Geriatric Department.
